Agnes Abbey

July 10, 1931 — November 8, 2023

Agnes Jean (Bartlett) Abbey was born on July 10, 1931 to Albert and Eva Bartlett. Agnes was one of seven children; her brothers were Albert, Robert, Kenny, and her sisters were Annabelle, Fern, and Jeanette. Many fond memories were made on the family farm through the years.

Agnes was married to the love of her life, Ray Abbey, and they enjoyed 72 years together. They had four children - Karen, Carol, Dorothy, and Doug. They resided in Collins, NY all those years until February 2021, and at that time, she and Ray relocated to Mill City, PA.

Agnes lived a full life in that she loved and served the LORD and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and brought much joy to those around her.

She worked at Fisher Price Toys in Holland, NY for few years and then for over 25 years as the church secretary at Gowanda Assembly of God, Gowanda, NY - a job she enjoyed so very much. Agnes led youth group for several years investing in the lives of many. Also, Agnes and Ray opened up their home to many people where they worshiped the LORD and led in Bible Study. Agnes was lovingly called St. Agnes by so many and the nieces and nephews fondly called her Aunt Aggie.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, Ray and two daughters, Karen and Carol. Surviving her, are her son, Doug and wife Becky; daughter Dorothy and husband Jim; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Agnes loved her family and friends very much and in her last days always wanted to make sure she told them and to keep serving the LORD, Agnes' legacy will live on in her family. She will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend Agnes' memorial service which will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at 6:00PM from the Mill City Assembly of God Church, 167 Mercy Lane, Dalton, PA 18414.

A visitation will be held from 5:00PM until the time of service on Friday.

A memorial service and interment will also be held on Saturday December 2, 2023 at 1:00 PM from the Collins Center United Methodist Church, Collins, NY. Interment will follow in Collins Center Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday.

Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
