Albert C. Miller Sr., of Lake Carey, Tunkhannock Twp. Pa. passed away Wednesday, January 25th, at home. Albert was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He was the son of the late Edmund and Gertrude Miller and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company, was self-employed for many years as a plumbing and heating contractor, and retired from The Pennsylvania State University, Wilkes-Barre, where he was supervisor of maintenance. He was a member of Landmark Lodge 0442 of the Fraternal Order of Freemasons, Lake Carey Sportsman's Club, and the South Wilkes-Barre Rod and Gun Club.
Albert was preceded in death by his son, Albert C. Miller Jr., parents, brother James Miller, sisters, Jane Miller, Edna Stredney, Gertrude Heffernan, and Ruth Gobla.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Lucy Mansfield, daughters Linda Kerlavage of Nicholson, Lori Ellis of Hanover Township, and son in law Michael Ferrett also of Nicholson. He will be deeply missed by grandchildren Meghan Panatieri, Marc Panatieri and Angela Reeves, Alyssa Miller, Amanda Miller, Zachary Ellis, and Mallory Ellis, and great grandchildren Jaylen Linton, Jaxon and Greyson Panatieri. Albert is also survived by brother in law Robert Mansfield and his wife Marcy, siblings Helen Jones, Marion and William Coolbaugh, and many nieces and nephews.
Al was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was outgoing and deeply loved. He will be profoundly missed by family and friends.
