Ann E. (Costello) Smith, 82, of Dalton passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 20 th . She was the widow of Kenneth P. Smith, Sr., who was her beloved husband of 47 years prior to his death in 2008.

Born in Scranton on July 9 th , 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph (Bunny) Costello and the late former Margaret (Peg) Jenkins. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Abington Heights High School Food Service.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth P. Smith, Jr., who passed in 1983; brother Jerome Costello; and sister Margaret Armstrong.

She is survived by a son, Paul; daughter Debbie; grandsons Don and his wife Amanda, and Cooper; Great grandsons Austin and Alex; and her good friend and phone buddy, Kay.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tracey Galardi for her dedicated, compassionate, and excellent care of Ann over the years, the exceptional nurses and staff members of Four West Team of Regional Hospital, and the Allied Home Hospice Team, especially Jonathan, Jennifer, and Lindsey for their excellent care.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Abington Hills Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
