Anne E. Schaefer

Anne E. Schaefer of North Eaton, Tunkhannock died on Tuesday in Commonwealth Regional Hospital in Scranton. She was born in Lenox, Susquehanna County on November 19, 1922 daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen Minkle Chaplauske. Anne was a 1939 graduate of Nicholson high school. Prior to her retirement she work for Bocar Dress Factory in Tunkhannock. A member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church and Eastern Star Lodge # 74. For many years she worked at the voting polls in Eaton Twp. Wyoming County and volunteered numerous hours at Tyler Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her Husband Victor W. Schaefer on March 4, 2009 and by a son William Schaefer. Surviving is a daughter and husband Ruth and Gary Tewksbury, of Tunkhannock, sisters Milda Farnham of Nicholson, Frances Hunter of Charleston, WVa, granddaughters Kristin and Sara Tewksbury, great grandchildren Elliott and Sierra Nelson. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11 am from the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
