Arthur P. Henning, 84, of Mehoopany passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, from a brief illness at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara (Jones) Henning.

Born on August 31, 1941, in Sayre, PA, he is the son of the late Phillip and Gladys (Sherwood) Henning.

He was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School. Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.

Professionally, Arthur was devoted to his career with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, where he dedicated many years of service, contributing to the craft and welfare of his colleagues.

Those close to Arthur remember him fondly for his love of the outdoors, particularly the time he spent hunting and fishing alongside his children and grandchildren. The family cabin was a special retreat where Arthur, with his wife and loved ones, gathered to create lasting memories. Arthur took pleasure in playing pinochle with his friends and completing puzzles.

Arthur was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church of Mehoopany. He was also a member of the American Legion Black Walnut, Monroeton Rod and Gun Club, North American Hunting Club, Towanda Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association (NRA).

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Charles Henning and wife Cindy, Richard Henning and wife Kimberly; siblings, Robert Henning and wife Pauline, Janet Ash, Shirley Snover and husband Lynn, Ina Hunter and husband Orville; grandchildren, Dyllan Henning (Angelique), Caleb Henning.

The family will have a Celebration of Life for Art at their cabin. The time will be determined upon the convivence of family members and friends.
