Austin Aukema

Austin Aukema, 24, of Laceyville, PA passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Born on September 5, 1999, in Tunkhannock, he is the son of Lara Mosher (Tunkhannock).

He graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School in 2018. Austin lived his life to the fullest by fishing anytime he could. He enjoyed riding for hours and working on cars or machines with the ones he loved. No matter what he was dealing with, he always had a smile on his face cheering up the ones he loved and bringing light where he could.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers, Robert Takacs, Jr. and Ronald Takacs (Laceyville); sisters, Alyssa Aukema and Hailey Aukema (Montrose); grandparents, Sara and Philip Wood (Laceyville) and Bowie and Fay Aukema (Meshoppen); fiancée and best friend, Ashley Symons (Laceyville); godparents, Amy Wilhelm (Tunkhannock) and Michael Casselbury (Springville); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, all who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jason Aukema; stepfather, Robert Takacs; grandfather, Lawrence Mosher; cousin, Bryce Brown.

Funeral services will be held privately.
