Barbara J. Engle

Barbara J. Engle, 89, died on April 28th at her home in Dubois, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard W. Engle, Sr.

Born in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Virginia Hall Mitchell. She was a graduate and Valedictorian of her class at Chenango Forks Central High School High School and earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Houghton College. Prior to retirement, she worked as a music teacher in schools in NY, TX, and PA. Barbara was a member of Heritage Baptist Church for 50 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Diane Henzler and husband Mark; a son, Richard Engle and wife Cheri; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Morgan and husband Charlie; and a brother, John Mitchell and wife Jackie.

A funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Baptist Church, 415 Venard Road, Clarks Summit, with interment to follow at Abington Hills. Friends may pay their respects at the church on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
