Barbara Henning

Barbara Chambers Henning of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 85. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Born on July 15, 1939, in Tunkhannock to Joseph (Ben) Chambers and Caroline DeWolf Chambers, Barbara was a beloved member of her community and a cherished family matriarch.

A proud graduate of Tunkhannock High School in 1957, she was crowned Queen of the Senior Ball and actively participated in many extracurricular activities, including the National Honor Society. She furthered her education with coursework at Keystone College in LaPlume, Pennsylvania.

Barbara dedicated much of her life to her career as a real estate agent and appraiser with Donna LaBar's Century 21 agency, where her professionalism and kindness left a lasting impression on clients and colleagues alike.

She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Kelly Henning Frey and her husband, Gerald Frey of Orangeville, PA; her sons, Kristopher J. Henning of Union, Maine; and Kurt J. Henning and his wife, Lesley, of Seneca, South Carolina. Barbara is also survived by her cherished grandchildren-Samuel S. Frey, Jonah B. Frey, Alec J. Frey, Joshua J. Henning and granddaughter Kaylin M Henning and her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia Frey. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanne Chambers Faux and her husband David Faux of Tunkhannock, and brothers, Joseph B. Chambers II and wife Karen Chambers of Oswego, NY; and William A. Chambers and wife Judy Chambers of Tunkhannock, as well as six nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Henning, Jr., and her son, Kent J. Henning.

Barbara's warmth, kindness, and enduring love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

May her memory serve as an inspiration of compassion and strength for generations to come.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
