Barbara Lucille Reed Frable of Clarks Summit passed away on Thursday, April 20, at Allied Hospice, Scranton. She was the wife of the late Clinton Edwin Frable, who passed away in 1996.

Born in Elmira, NY, on September 1, 1929, Barbara was the daughter of the late Luther and Hazel Masterson Reed. As a teenager, she moved to the Scranton area due to her father's work on the railroad. She graduated from Scranton Central High School in 1947 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Scranton in 1983. She was a math instructor at International Correspondence School until her retirement in 1992.

Barbara was active in The General Society of Mayflower Descendants, being a descendent of Gov. William Bradford; the National Society of the Colonial Dames XVII Century; and the Scranton City Chapter of The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid reader and loved studying history and genealogy.

Surviving are her daughters Barbara Sarnowski and her husband Joseph from St. Augustine, FL; Linda Hartzell and her husband Terry from Middletown, PA; and Susan D'Amato and her husband Joseph from Clarks Summit, PA. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Joseph Sarnowski, Mathew Sarnowski, Jason Sarnowski, Laurie Moore, August Perrotti, Jr., Michael Perrotti, David Perrotti, Christopher Perrotti, and Angela D'Amato. Barbara adored her greatgrandchildren Brittany Sarnowski, Charles Moore, Samuel Moore, Andrew Perrotti, Robyn Perrotti, and Audrey Perrotti. She is also survived by her sister Helen Dippre as well as several nieces and nephews. Barbara leaves behind her cherished cat Lily.

Barbara was preceded in death by her step-sister Olive Dickensen, nieces Sharon Werner and Lisa Frable, and nephew Curt Dippre.

Friends and family may call on Monday, April 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, at 10 a.m. at the same location, officiated by Rev. Earl P. Trygar, Sr., with interment following at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scranton City Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, ℅ 215 Park Boulevard, Clarks Summit, PA, 18411.
