Betty M. "Betty Boop Walsh

Betty M. "Betty Boop" Walsh, 98, of Scranton, died at Dunmore Healthcare on Saturday. She was the widow of Gene Walsh. The couple was married 61 years.

Born in Dalton, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Mabel Dickinson. Prior to retirement, she was the checkout manager at Woolworth's. She was truly a character and will be remembered for her spunk and wittiness. Betty was the eldest of the Dickinson family - a proud legacy of farmers that meant so much to her.

She is survived by a son, Gene, Jr.; a daughter, Debbie; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dunmore Healthcare Center for their compassionate care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Schultzville.
