Betty Hallock

Betty Hallock, 76, of Tunkhannock passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023 at home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hallock.

Born on February 13, 1947, she is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Betty Harris Kinney. She was one of fourteen children.

She will forever be remembered as a dedicated custodian who served Tunkhannock High School with unwavering commitment for over two decades. Betty, affectionately known as "Ma" by everyone she encountered, touched the lives of countless students and staff members during her tenure. Retiring in 2002 after dedicating more than 20 years to Tunkhannock High School, Betty left behind an indelible mark on the hearts of students and colleagues alike. Her legacy extended far beyond the walls of the school building; it was etched into the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.

When reflecting upon memories of Betty Hallock, one can't help but be touched by her selflessness. She consistently put others before herself and radiated compassion in everything she did. Whether it was offering words of encouragement during challenging times or providing a much-needed hug after a bad day, Betty had an uncanny ability to uplift and support those around her.

She is survived by daughters, Lorie Kitchnefsky and husband Dale, Pam Davis; son, Larry Hallock; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by daughter in law, Stephanie Hallock.

In honoring Betty's memory, let us carry forth the lessons she imparted upon us: to treat others with kindness, to lend a helping hand whenever possible, and to embrace community as family. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, may we celebrate her exceptional life of service and compassion. Betty Hallock's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were touched by her unwavering love.
