Betty Simmons of Tunkhannock, formerly of Kingston, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 15th at home. Born in Kingston on July 22, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Harding Partington. She was a life Member of VFW Auxiliary #283, Kingston and the Immanuel Baptist Church in Edwardsville. Betty will be greatly missed by her niece Colleen Williams of Tunkhannock with whom she resided. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Russell, infant daughter Betty Lou, sister Mrs Iona Bradley and husband Leonard, nephew Joseph Bradley and infant granddaughter. Surviving is one son: Russell E. Simmons and wife Sandra of Alberton, MT, foster daughter Charlene Yurksza, foster son William Walton, MT, several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with the Rev. James C. Quinn of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Edwardsville, and Rev. Lou Divis of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Tunkhannock. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.
