Bonita Arthur

Bonita Arthur, 82, of Tunkhannock passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Embassy of Tunkhannock.

Born on May 29, 1943, in Somerville, NJ, she is the daughter of the late David and Naomi (Squier) Arthur, Sr.

She was a 1961 graduate of Bound Brook High School. She devoted over 30 years of her life as a registered nurse, serving patients at Tyler Memorial Hospital and Somerset Hospital in New Jersey.

Bonnie was known for her cheerful spirit, even when faced with challenges. She carried a light-heartedness that brightened the days of friends and family.

She had a special fondness for black cats, delighting in their mysterious charm. An avid reader, Bonnie found joy in her books, while her green thumb nurtured her love for plants.

She is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Amy Cornell (C.J.) of Tunkhannock, Megan Coleman (Jamison), Anthony Arthur (Briana) of Iowa; beloved great nieces and nephews, Kira, Cyrus, and Caleb Cornell of Tunkhannock, Marcus, Darian and Trey Coleman of Iowa; sister-in-law, Diane Arthur of Iowa; special neighbors, Richie and Penny; many special cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, David Arthur, Jr; sister-in-law, Donna (Curnow) Arthur.

Family and friends are invited to attend Bonnie's Celebration of Life which will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will be held in Lacey Street Cemetery, Laceyville.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
