Byron D. Rosengrant, 77, of Tunkhannock, passed away Sunday January 8th peacefully at home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Baisley. He is survived by his brothers Russell (Norma) of Tunkhannock, LaRue (Brenda) of Pittsburgh, Walter of Tunkhannock, Step daughter Tina Tusar, sisters-in-law Cherie Letson (John), and Donna (John) Kowalewski, step grandchildren Harley and Zach, and many nieces and nephews. Born in Falls, PA, Byron was a 1958 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. Immediately after graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served as part of the Army Corps of Engineers. While part of the Corps of Engineers, he served tours of duty in both Korea and Greenland which earned him numerous letters of commendation and citations. Following his service in the military, he had a very successful and rewarding career at the Elizabeth New Jersey General Motors Plant, where he was fondly remembered as a co-worker always willing to help others when needed. After retiring he moved back to Tunkhannock, where he enjoyed the abounding wildlife and nature surrounding his and Cindy’s home. Byron enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – feeding the birds, observing the deer and other animals that frequented his yard and working around the house. Each of us is a better person for having the pleasure of knowing Byron and having him as a part of our lives. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband and caring friend and will always be forever in our thoughts and hearts. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday January 11th from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with funeral services following at 1 pm from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA.
