Carlton C. Shupp, of Tunkhannock, PA passed peacefully in the arms of his Lord on Friday, July 15, 2016 in Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre, PA. He died following a battle with brain cancer. He was born on November 9, 1931 to Clarence and Hilda Crispell Shupp of Buckwheat Hollow, Monroe Township, PA. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Sickler Shupp; they celebrated 64 years of marriage in June. Carlton worked for many years before retiring from Bendix (Allied Signal), South Montrose. He also served for many years as the SEO for several local townships and as a caretaker for Eaton Township Cemetery. In later years, Carlton spent many hours helping neighbors and family by cutting and splitting firewood as well as repairing cars and equipment. He was an honorable man who loved his family, knew what he believed in, and wanted to help others. Surviving are his four children: Carlton “Pete” Shupp (Arlene), Brenda Cooley (James), Debra Musser (Timothy), Dawn Rigdon (David). Grandchildren: Amy Cooley Walsh (Pat), Eric (Claire), Neil Cooley (Erin), Bryan (Tracy), Kimberly Shupp, Charles (Sarah), Bradley (fiancee, Amanda), Alex Rigdon, Mark (Cyndi), Michael Musser (Cynthia). Great-grandchildren: Bryan J Shupp, Katie Wynn, Brianna, Spencer, Elizabeth Walsh, Eva, Caroline, Jonathan, Judson, Hannah, Amelia Cooley, Bethany, Adeline, Levi Rigdon, Jacob, Danika, Martin, Angel Musser. He is survived by his sister, Audrey Wright(John). Carlton was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Hilda Shupp and a granddaughter, Angela Cooley. Funeral arrangements will be private as his family honors his request to do so. In his memory, his family asks that you celebrate his home going to heaven by buying a stranger a cup of coffee, sharing watermelon with loved ones around a table, and lending a helping hand to needy neighbors. The family wishes to thank our extended family and friends for their prayers and love. Also, to the staff at Celtic Hospice, God bless you for being the hands of Jesus.
