Carmella Whytashek, age 70, passed away peacefully on November 30, surrounded by her loving family after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 31, 1955, Carmella lived a life defined by love, hard work, and the deep joy she found in the simple moments shared with those she loved most.
Carmella cherished spending time with her family. Whether gathered for holidays, sharing a meal, or simply enjoying a quiet day together, it was those moments that brought her the greatest happiness. She also loved golf and took pleasure in tending to her yard, finding peace and pride in caring for the space she made so beautiful.
Carmella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Whytashek, whom she now joins in eternal rest. She is survived by her daughter, Kristy Ritz, and her son, Heath Whytashek; and by her treasured grandchildren, Abigail Ritz, Alaina Ritz, and Hunter Whytashek, each of whom brought immense joy and pride into her life.
Carmella will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her resilience, and the love she poured into her family. Her presence made every gathering brighter, and her kindness touched all who knew her.
Her legacy of love, devotion, and grace will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley and Allied Services Scranton Hospice Center for their compassionate care and support during her illness.
In keeping with her wishes, no formal services will be held.
