Carol Ann Franko, 84, of Tunkhannock passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024, one day before her 85th birthday at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Peter Franko, Sr.

Born on September 25, 1939 in Taylor, PA, she is the daughter of the late Adam and Bertha (Podmenik) Romanoski.

She was a 1957 graduate of Duryea High School. She enjoyed dancing the polka and western dances with her husband, and her enthusiasm for life was further reflected in her love for playing BINGO. Traveling was another of her passions, particularly going on cruises. Carol also cherished her time spent quilting, collecting angels, and reading.

Carol had a deep love for music throughout her life. Her musical talents shone brightly as she played both the trumpet and the piano, bringing joy not only to herself but to those around her. Carol was also a cherished member of the Resurrection Choir at Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Tunkhannock.

Above all, family was everything to Carol, and she treasured the time spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Lori Vermeulen (Leonard), Michelle Franko (Tom Pugh); daughter-in-law, Gail Franko; grandchildren, Angela Franko, Peter Franko, III (Danielle), Jessica Vermeulen Hagnauer (Matthew), Paige Vermeulen, Chris Vermeulen, Michael Skumanick; great-grandchildren, Jacob Franko, Hailey Franko, Lily Franko, and Magdalena Hagnauer.

She was preceded in death by her son, Peter Franko, Jr; brother, Edward Romanoski; sister, Eleanor Andruzis.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Bobbie Jo, Jackie, Rae, and Brian of Compassionate Care Hospice for their care of Carol.

Family and friends are invited to attend Carol's Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 to be celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wyoming County Cancer Society, PO Box 629, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.

Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
