Catherine M. Kukucka Catherine M.(Kate) Kukucka of Tunkhannock died Saturday June 28th in Community Medical Center in Scranton She was born on March 28, 1920 in Lake Winola daughter of the late John and Anna Thomas Mikulski. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a chef for Governor William Scranton and as head chef at Keystone Jr. College. Kate was the owner of the White House Inn in Tunkhannock until the 1972 flood. A member of the Church of the Nativity BVM, in Tunkhannock. She started the Potato Pancake stand for the Triton Hose Co. Carnival providing her family recipe. She was preceded in death by her husband John Kukucka Sr., Son in law Clifford Kingston, great granddaughter Meggie Lee Rougth, brothers Charles, George R. Infant John Mikulski, sisters Anna Kamoski, Margaret Kuback, Mildred Whitlonis , Connie Skrynski and infant Mary Mikulski. Surviving is a son John and wife Ruth Kukucka of Tunkhannock, daughters Jean and husband Ron Steele of Tunkhannock, Darlene and husband Danny Miller of Forkston Township, 3 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock at 10 am. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock.
