Charles Stanley Fargo Jr. 87, of Tunkhannock passed away peacefully at home on Friday January 30 with his family. Born in Tunkhannock, on November 5, 1927 son of the late Charles Sr. and Beatrice Puterbaugh Fargo. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Shiffer Fargo. Stan, was a Navy Veteran of World War II and also a sergeant in the United States Army. He was an Iron Worker with Local 489. Stan was a Charter Member of the Tunkhannock Loyal Order of Moose 1276. He was preceded in death by infant Brother Glen, Sisters Dorothy Mansfield and Alice Kibler. Also, great grandson Aidan Fariole. He is survived by son Charles Stanley III, of Meshoppen, daughters Melinda Eggert & husband Ralph, of Tunkhannock, Beth Smurkowski and husband Jack, of Meshoppen, sister Mabel Hadsall, of Tunkhannock, a special niece Kristina Olah, of Montrose, grandchildren Laura Fargo, Alexander Eggert & wife Becca, Amy & husband Alfred Fariole, Corey Smurkowski, and great grandchildren Natalia, Ella, and Cameron Fariole. He enjoyed being with his family and the view from his front porch at the end of Putnam Street. Funeral services will be conducted by Chaplain Dave Betts on Wednesday February 4th at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga St. Tunkhannock. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
