Charles Goble

May 16, 1927 — May 30, 2024

Emblem

Charles Andrew Goble, 97, of Eatonville passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at The Gardens at Tunkhannock. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 ½ years on October 13, 1999, Marjorie (Buckingham) Goble.

Born in Eatonville on May 16, 1927. He was the son of the late Herman Charles and Pauline (Kingston) Goble.

He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II with three of his brothers for a combined total of 11 ½ years. He received his honorable discharge as a military policeman and was honorably discharged in 1947.

After returning to the United States, he bought his first house in Mehoopany after marrying the love of his life and then together they built a new home in Eatonville working on it at night and weekends when they could.

He so enjoyed trapping and hunting and took his kids with him as soon as they could walk. He also enjoyed selling the Christmas trees he planted on his mountain and then meeting all his life long customers. Every kid got a candy cane for sure or even a jeep ride.

He certainly will be missed by his nieces and nephews, who never missed a birthday or sent him Christmas cards or stopped him for a hug and picture. He sure loved you all!

And perhaps you'll remember him from doing construction at your house or even building your house from the ground up, repairing your stonework, building you a patio, fireplace, or an inground pool.

Charles will be lovingly remembered by his children, Darrell Goble, Joyce Goble, Terry Goble and wife Sheri all of Tunkhannock; granddaughter, Kelly Kozlansky and husband Shannon; great grandchildren, Justin Drew Kozlansky and Brandon Charles Kozlansky which he loved more than life and never missed a chance to be at their sporting events or play ball in the backyard.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by sisters, Catherine Miner, Jean Pond, Helen Jordan, Shirley Savage, Sylvia Goble; brothers, Albert Goble, Robert Goble, Richard Goble, Donald Goble, Gilbert Goble.

Family and friends are invited to attend Charles' funeral services which will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Pastor Gary Myers presiding. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock with full military honors.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.

To our Dear Dad

Do not ask me to remember

Do not try to make me understand

Let me rest and know you are with me

Kiss my cheek and hold my hand

I'm confused beyond your concept

I am sad and sick and lost

All I know is that I need you to be

With me at all your cost

Do not lose your patience with me

Do not curse or scold my cry

I cannot help the way I'm acting

Cannot be different though I try

Just remember that I need you

That the best of me is gone

Please don't fail to stand beside me

Love me til my life is done

In loving memory of Charles Andrew Goble
