Born June 18, 1929 in Bryn Mawr, PA. "Billy" grew up in Elmhurst and was the only child of the late Dr. Charles Willard Taylor D.M.D. and Sarah Hensel Taylor. He attended Scranton Central High School and Susquehanna University, then continued on to Pittsburgh University Dental School, Class of 1955. He became a third-generation dentist.

Immediately after dental school, he married Janet Mae Miller on April 9, 1955, then began his service in the United States Coast Guard as a traveling dentist. After his service, he and Janet returned to Scranton in the late 50's. Charles joined in practice with his father at the Medical Arts Building in Scranton. He expanded the practice in the 1970's to include an office in Clarks Green. Later, his son, Dr. Andrew Taylor DDS joined the practice in 1989. Charles practiced dentistry for 50 years before full retirement in 2005.

Charles belonged to the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Assoc., and the Scranton District Dental Society, which he was past President. In 1983, he became a Fellow in the academy of General Dentistry. He was a member of the Rotary Club of the Abingtons and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a past Mason in the Waverly Lodge.

Charles belonged to the First Presbyterian Church, Clarks Summit. He was both Deacon and Elder.

The family has fond memories of his love of playing the piano, gardening, sailing, traveling to Florida every Summer, and camping in the trailer at Breezewood Acres and elsewhere. Before and after retirement he loved traveling with Janet doing antique shows all over the Northeast. After full retirement Charles and Janet spent winters in Florida and traveled to far flung destinations, such as Europe, Alaska, the Middle East, and cruises to the Caribbean.
