Charlotte Remington

December 27, 1923 — July 3, 2023

Charlotte Arissa Remington, 99, of Tunkhannock passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 at Gracious Living Estates, Montrose.

Born on December 27, 1923, she is the daughter of the late Frank and Celinda Junk Pond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Remington in 1987.

She had a deep love for gardening. The vibrant colors of bright pink, purple, and yellow flowers were her favorites, and she transformed her own backyard into a vibrant oasis. The sight of blooming flowers brought her joy and brought happiness to those who visited. Charlotte found solace in her love for watching birds. With a keen eye and attentive ear, she would spend countless hours observing those that visited her garden.

In addition to gardening, Charlotte found immense pleasure in various handicrafts. Crocheting and quilting were her creative outlets that allowed her imagination to flourish. Charlotte was a regular at the Senior Center for many years where she formed lifelong friendships. The lively game of bingo was one of her passions, always bringing excitement and laughter into her life.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Hinkley of Springville, Linda Hinkley of Springville, Reta Slocum (Jack) of New Albany; sons, Stanley Remington (Dorothy) of Turbotville, Ivan Remington of New Albany, Lloyd Remington of Tunkhannock; son-in-law, Robert Buechel; special friend, Ethel Miller (companion of the late Carl Remington); grandchildren, Michele, Nancy, Karen, Lisa, Brenda, Tina, Judson, Donna, David, Marcia, Dawn, Richard, Renee, Laurie, Thad, Daniel, Ashley, Stacey; 28 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; niece, Joan Pond; nephew, Ronald Pond.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sons, Carl Remington, Scott Remington; daughters, Marie Drobnicki, Susan Buechel; sons-in-law, Robert Hinkley, John Hinkley, Joseph Drobnicki; grandson, Samuel Remington; great granddaughter, Megan Vermeulen; grandson-in-law, Robert Forba; brother and wife, Robert and Helen Pond-Dushore.

Charlotte leaves behind cherished memories among her family members and friends who will forever hold her dear in their hearts. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all to embrace life's joys and extend compassion to those around us.

A special thanks to Gracious Living Estates and staff along with Michele Hirkey, granddaughter for all of her help with the many doctor appointments and the many other things to help her grandmother.

Funeral services will be held privately.
