Cheryl L Sickler went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 21, 2016. She had struggled with the effects of colon cancer for 9 years. But on a Lord’s Day morning, she made her journey home. She was 59 years old.
Cheryl was born to Rev Francis and Mrs. Florence (Kerns) Richmond on March 21, 1957, in Binghamton, NY. She lived in E Windsor, NY, Ravenna, NY, Fox Hill, NY and Tunkhannock, Pa, where she met and married David Sickler. They would have celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on August 22, 2016.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her oldest brother Ray Richmond (Doris) of Northville NY.
Surviving is David, her husband, daughters Jennifer Welch (Randy), Erlanger, KY; Jessica Elkins (Joey), Nevada, OH; and son, Jaron Sickler (Andrea), Stuart, FL; sister, Ruth Bills (Mike), Mill Hall, Pa; and brother, Paul Richmond (Cindy), Baton Rouge, La. She has 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member or the Pilgrim Holiness Church of Tunkhannock PA.
She was active in the junior worship department and the Endless Mountain Christian Academy of the church until her health failed to the point she could no longer do it.
She worked in the certified nursing assistant field for a number of years, which included 5 years at the VA Hospital. She was a very caring person, who loved all of her patients.
A viewing will be held for friends and family on Friday, August 26th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Pilgrim Holiness Church in Tunkhannock and 10:00 AM on Saturday August 27th until the time of the Celebration of life Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Arrangements by Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA.
