Christine Aydelotte, passed away peacefully on the quiet morning of July 5, 2026.
Born in Niagara Falls, New York, on November 3, 1950, she was the beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Mary O'Donnell and the youngest of seven children. Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Aydelotte; her brothers, Cornellius, Brian, and William O'Donnell; her sister Mary Catherine Payne; and her sisters-in-law, Anne O'Donnell & Marilyn O'Donnell; father-in-law, Frederick; mother-in-law, Jeanne Aydelotte.
She is survived by her devoted cat Felix; her oldest brother, Patrick O'Donnell; her sister, Florence Brown and brother-in-law Kevin Brown; her brothers -in-law Arthur Payne, Ronald Neprily; her sisters-in-law Janice O'Donnell, Alicia O'Donnell, Madelyn Neprily, Anne Aydelotte, and Lynn Leonard; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Christine spent many years working as a waitress, where her warm smile, infectious laugh and her friendly nature touched countless people. In 1974, she met the love of her life, Fred. They married and built a wonderful life together in Stevensville, PA, sharing a deep love for one another and for the many pets they welcomed into their home over the years.
An avid outdoorswomen, Christine and Fred were passionate about firearms safety and education. Together they attended numerous gun safety schools and became certified instructors, taking great pride in teaching others the importance of responsible firearm ownership and their use.
Following Fred's passing in 2018, Christine relocated to Tunkhannock, PA, where she was so welcomed. She often said that moving to Tunkhannock was the best thing she had done for herself. She made many friends. Just two years ago Christine learned and fell in love playing the game of Mahjong, she often talked about all the wonderful friends she had made through the game.
She was a faithful member of the Nativity of the Blessed Mary, where her faith and fellowship were an important part of her life.
Christine will be remembered for her quick wit, kind heart, fierce independence, love for Jesus, animals, and her unwavering loyalty to family and friends. She found joy in life's simple pleasure and leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories. Christine, you truly will be missed!
Family and friends are invited to attend Christine's Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 to be celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert and Deacon Ray Pieretti. Interment will be held in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass on Thursday.
