Cindy Lee Matalavy 59, of Nimble Hill Mehoopany, passed away at her home in her sleep on Sunday May 1st, 2016. She was born in Meshoppen on May 3, 1957 daughter of Joann Klimas Coolbaugh of Tunkhannock and the late Wendell Coolbaugh Sr. Cindy’s family was her life and her grandchildren were the motivation that helped her through her many health issues. She was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School class of 1975, Cindy was previously a teacher’s aide at the Mehoopany Elementary School, was a full time homemaker, and member of the Mehoopany United Methodist Church. She loved to bake, decorate her home, maintain her flower beds can vegetables from her garden, hunting and fishing at the cabin. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother Wendell Coolbaugh Jr. Cindy is survived by her loving husband Lewis whom she met at Tunkhannock High School in 1971 and they enjoyed 45 happy years in love with each other. Also surviving sons Lewis Jr. and companion Suzie Falls of Harvey’s Lake, James “Biff” of Centennial Co. , daughters Wendy (Ryan) Sprowl of Jenningsville, Katie (Branden) Cantone of Nimble Hill Mehoopany and her beagle Molly. Grandchildren Dean, Gillienne, and Ophelia Matalavy, Madison and Justin Everetts, Gabrielle and Brody Cantone, and Johnna Sprowl. Sister Cara Coolbaugh and Cheryl (Dave) Ayre all of Tunkhannock. special friends Pat and Jack, Donna and Jim, Charlotte and Bob, Judy and Harry, Aunt Barb and Uncle Bob and all her nieces, nephews, cousins and good neighbors on Nimble Hill. It was Cindy’s request that a private service be held at the convenience of her immediate family. Interment will be in Pieta Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W.
