Clara Lucy Brown, formerly of Factoryville, died at Clarks Summit Senior Living on Wednesday. She was the widow of George Brown, who died in 1992.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Champlin and Ida Fisher Champlin Phillips. She was a graduate of Clarks Summit High School and, prior to retirement, worked various jobs including a bookkeeper at Pringles and a bookstore clerk at Keystone College. Clara enjoyed golf, bowling, square and line dancing, reading, walking, travel, hockey, and going to the gym.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Hayos of Factoryville; a son, David Brown and wife Kimberli of Factoryville; grandchildren Nicole Hayos-Tyler and husband Michael, Kyle Hayos and wife Ashley, Jennifer Brown and partner Adam Schaub, David Brown and partner Stephanie Burnham, and Cassandra Holsopple and husband Lucas; great grandchildren Eira Hayos, Susanna Holsopple, and Colter John Hayos; step great grandchildren Danny Greco, Matthew and Kevin Tyler, and Victor Pellew; brother Edmund Champlin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law John F. Hayos, Jr. and sisters Vera Adams and Doris Nay.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Abington Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19111.
