Clyde R. Croft III, 80 of Benton Township passed away at his home on Thursday. He is survived by JoAnn Beloate Croft, his wife of 63 years.
Born in 1943 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Clyde R. and Elizabeth Higgs Croft and a 1960 graduate of Hall High School.
He started working at Wohl Shoe Company which took him and his young family to Utah, Texas and Georgia before settling down in Clarks Summit where he took on a leadership role in B. Levy & Sons. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Jody opened Eagle Cleaners in Clarks Summit in 1997. He spent the rest of his career growing the business in the community he called home. In 2012, he turned the reins over to his son, Buddy and wife Kathy and spent his time enjoying his passions of gardening, hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Also surviving are sons Buddy Croft and his wife Kathy of Factoryville, and Hunter Croft and his wife Chrissy of West Chester; grandchildren Elizabeth (Jimmy) Cockerill and Sgt. Major Michael (Nicole), Joseph, Haley, Leah, Allie, and Rebecca Croft; six great grandchildren; brothers Bob (Jo Ellen) of Roland, Arkansas, Dan (Rhonda) of Norman, Oklahoma, and Don (Debbie) of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
