Corinne Lane

Corinne Ann Lane, 79, of Dunmore, formerly Lake Winola passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Lane.

Born on May 21, 1944 in New York, NY, she is the daughter of the late Dominic and Pauline (Janicek) Hanulec.

Corinne's journey began in Syosset, New York, where she graduated from Syosset High School in 1961, laying the foundation for a fulfilling life ahead. After completing her education, she wholeheartedly embraced her role as a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Mary's of the Lake Church and Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 154.

Throughout her years, Corinne found great joy in pursuing various hobbies and interests. Gardening was one of her passions, as she took great pride in cultivating vibrant blooms and creating a serene oasis in her backyard. Her green thumb was admired by all who visited her home. Additionally, she found solace in canning the fruits of her labor and cooking delicious meals for friends and family to enjoy.

Beyond her hobbies, Corinne had an adventurous spirit that led her to create lasting memories through travel. She particularly treasured her trips to Maine and the Thousand Islands. The picturesque landscapes and breathtaking sights left an indelible mark on her heart. Moreover, Corinne embarked on numerous cruises, immersing herself in new cultures while savoring the beauty of the open sea. These voyages gifted her with unforgettable experiences that she cherished.

Her proudest accomplishment was making a home in the countryside alongside her husband. She poured boundless love into creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who entered. Corinne's nurturing nature shined through as she ensured that every person who crossed her threshold felt comforted and embraced.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Patricia Schwartz and husband Richard, Kathryn Teel, Sandra Slowey and companion James Rushworth, Elizabeth Malos and husband David; brothers, Joseph and Robert Hanulec; thirteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by son-in-law, Kevin Slowey.

It was truly through her kindness and compassion that she made an immeasurable impact on those around her. Friends knew they could always rely on Corinne for unwavering support, a listening ear, and a comforting presence.

Family and friends are invited to attend Corinne's Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Friday August 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM from St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 1872 Dalton Rd, Lake Winola, PA 18625 to be celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert and Deacon Raymond Pieretti. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola. Friends are asked to go directly to the church on Friday.

A viewing will be held on Thursday August 17, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
