Listen to Obituary

Dale Patrick Franko, 57, of East Falls, died unexpectedly at his home on November 25, 2022. Born in Scranton, he was the son of Judith Franko of Newton Township, and the late Joseph Franko Jr. Dale was a 1983 graduate of Abington Heights High School and retired from Procter & Gamble in 2020.

Dale loved fishing in the Thousand Islands and spending time working on his property in Chaumont Bay. It was his retirement dream to spend his time on the water catching walleye and bass and watching the sunset on the river. He also loved cooking and made the best chili!

Anyone who spent time with Dale knew that he loved being with his many friends and had the best sense of humor. His tales from the grocery store, or the "pit of misery," always made us laugh and his advice to the kids should usually not be taken seriously. He was quick to crack a joke or tell stories from the past that never got old.

Uncle Dale's true legacy will always be the love he gave to his nephews, nieces, and godchildren. He was there for them whenever they needed him, and he loved each one like a second father. He was a role model who showed them how to work hard and enjoy life. He taught them the value of family and that taking care of those you love is what matters most in life. We will miss Dale dearly, but we were blessed to have him in our lives and will cherish every memory we have forever.

He once said, "When I die, I would tell people don't feel sorry for me. I had a great family, great friends, traveled all over the world, did what I wanted to do, and lived a great life."

Surviving are two brothers, Joseph Brian Franko and his wife Lisa Franko, and Robert Franko; two sisters, Michele Davidson and her husband Jamie Davidson, Christine Kresge and her husband Kurt Kresge; Nephews, Troy Franko, Donald (DJ) Rosenkrans, and Daniel Rosenkrans; Nieces, Alissa Whelski and her husband Paul Whelski, Mackenzie Davidson, Danielle Davidson, and Terri Heil; great-niece Charleigh Whelski; and his godchildren, Alissa Whelski, Dalton Lacoe, Brian Pronitis, and DJ Rosenkrans.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dale Patrick Franko Memorial Scholarship Fund.
