Listen to Obituary

Dave Brown, 69, of Dunmore, died on Wednesday, August 3rd, at GCMC. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones as he departed.

He was born in Clarks-Summit and graduated from Abington Heights High School in 1970. He began his career in the carpenter Union and eventually started his own business. He was a lively and loving husband to his wife, Jeannie, and he raised his five children to keep a light heart and always respect others.

He loved God, painting landscapes, writing thriller novels, telling outlandish stories, and performing live music with his bass guitar. In all of his endeavors, he brought a fun-loving spirit, mentorship, and a sense of wonder for everything the world had to offer.

Dave is survived by his wife, Regina Dempsey; his five children: Jelina, Mary, Jeremy, Amber, and Josh; and his six grandchildren: Wynter, Tayler, Kylea, Orion, Odin, and Amaryllis; his brothers, Wellington, John, & Chester Brown; and his sister, Wendy Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald & Richard Brown.

Thanks to GCMC staff for providing excellent care, especially everyone at the ICU.
