DeAnn Jennings Florey, 86, of Lake Winola and North Hutchinson Island, Florida, passed away peacefully Friday morning. She was the beloved wife of Richard Florey, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Jennings and Elma Jennings McCabe. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and attended Marywood College. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a real estate agent and was a member of Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.
DeAnn lived life with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. She was equally an athlete and artist. She could be found on the golf course, tennis court, ski mountain, potter's wheel, or beach. Her favorite pastime for over 65 years was a boat ride around Lake Winola. DeAnn's greatest joy was her loving family. She brought her playful spirit, her love of friendly competition, and her warmth to every gathering. Her presence made life brighter for all who knew her, and the memories she created with them will be cherished always.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Wendy Beauchemin (Dave), Kim Dominick (Richard), Tami Conrad (Mark), and Rick Florey (Beth). She leaves behind her grandchildren: Jenny Newton; Eric and Brian Beauchemin; Mark Suprick; Tom Gilbride; Brandy Cook; Shelby Eve, Michael and Ethan Conrad; and Colin, Evan, and Bryce Florey: and by her twelve great-grandchildren.
Services will be private and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Allied Services Hospice, 511 Morgan Highway, Scranton, PA 18508.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, Clarks Summit.
