Deborah L. Benjamin, of South Abington Township, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Born on July 27, 1952, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late William Maurice Moore and Betty Davis Thomas Moore.
Deborah is survived by her two devoted daughters, Sarah Benjamin Folks and Rachel Benjamin Williams; her cherished grandchildren, Seveah Folks, Samayah Folks, Breana Williams, and Kensington Williams; and her loving sisters, Georgiann Moore Henderson and Betty Sharon Moore Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, David A. Benjamin.
Deborah was a proud graduate of West Scranton High School, Class of 1970. Following, she earned a degree in Business from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Her career journey began in business administration and later transitioned to the medical field, where she became a Certified Medical Assistant.
Deborah's life was marked by her unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her love of music, and her deep devotion to her family. She served faithfully at Faith Community Church as church secretary and choir director for many years before she and her husband moved their family to Clarks Summit, PA. There she became an active member of Heritage Baptist Church. Her involvement in church continued through
Bible studies, women's groups, and especially her beloved widow's ministry where she offered encouragement and friendship to others navigating loss.
She had a heart for worship and a voice that carried the spirit of every song she sang. Music was her joy and she often used it to minister to others. Above all, Deborah cherished her children and grandchildren. She found the greatest joy in being a mother (Muma) and grandmother (Tata). Her family was the light of her life and she poured her love and wisdom into them every day. Her legacy of faith, strength, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
