Dennis Everitt, 81, of Monroe Township passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at River View Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Margaret (Humenansky) Everitt in 2018.
Born on August 15, 1942 in Bloomsburg, he is the son of the late Bruce and Frances (Shultz) Everitt.
Dennis was a 1962 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. He joined the United States Army and served our country with honor and dignity during his time in Germany.
After serving his country, Dennis embarked on a remarkable career at Procter and Gamble. For an impressive span of 31 years until his retirement in 1999. Known for his unwavering work ethic and impeccable attention to detail, Dennis was an integral part of the organization.
Outside of work, family always came first for Dennis. He cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and granddogs. One of the highlights of their time together was their family vacations to the beach. Those trips were filled with laughter and precious moments that will be forever treasured.
He enthusiastically supported both the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Phillies. Whether it was game day or not, you could always find him rooting for his favorite teams.
In addition to being an avid sports fan, Dennis had a number of hobbies that brought him immense joy throughout his life. He loved spending time outdoors while hunting or engaging in friendly competition at the local bowling alley. These activities not only brought him satisfaction but also allowed him to forge lasting friendships along the way.
He is survived by his daughters, Fran Yekel, Melissa Michlowski and husband Bill; son-in-law, Kevin Frantz; sisters, Linda Anderson and husband Doug, Sarah Jo Puckett and husband Derek; grandchildren, Matthew Yekel, Ellen and Benjamin Frantz.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Frantz; brother, David Everitt; son-in-law, Brian Yekel.
Family and friends are invited to attend Dennis' funeral services which will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 12:00PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dennis' name to the animal shelter of your choice.
