Diane DeCicco, Ransom Twp., died Wednesday at Allied Hospice, Scranton. She was the widow of William DeCicco, who died in 1993.


Born in Newton Twp., she was the daughter of the late John Roy and Virginia Gairens Thompson. At a young age, she began working on the family farm. As someone who was always willing to help, she often found herself at the farmers market helping to sell her family's produce or working at her brother's dairy bar. Prior to retirement, she worked for St. Joseph's Center as a special needs coach and as a private duty nurse. She was a member of Church of St. Benedict and the Newton-Ransom Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are three sons, Billy and his wife, Sara, of South Abington Twp.; Tony and his wife, Erin, of Clarks Summit; and Christopher and his wife, Britney, of Ransom Twp.; grandchildren, Kelsie, Viviana, Gabriella, Cora, William, Kinslie, Dominic and Patrick; sister, Suzanne Drumsta, of Newton Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex and John Roy Thompson; and grandsons, AJ and Noah.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Church of St. Benedict, 1849 Newton-Ransom Blvd., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Stephen A. Asomah, assistant pastor. All attending are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery.


Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
