Listen to Obituary

Diane Stryweski, 83, of Newton Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by family Monday morning after a long and full life. She was very loved and will be truly missed. She was the wife of Theodore Stryweski. The couple had been married 63 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Allugrucci Ragona. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a secretary at Scranton Label. Diane was a member of the Church of St. Benedict and the Newton-Ransom Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Diane was better known as Noni to not only her own family but to everyone she met. With open arms, she welcomed anyone into her family because it was the most important thing to her. Diane enjoyed going out for dinner with her husband and friends followed by a game of bananagrams where they played by their own rules. She also enjoyed attending the senior center for activities and bible study.

Also surviving are a son, Ted Jr., of Newton Twp.; a daughter, Carla Daniels and husband, Cliff, of Tunkhannock; grandchildren, Gina
Daniels, Elana Daniels-Won and husband, Sung Bae; Tori Hallisey and husband, Jerry; and a great-grandson, Wyatt Hallisey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Benedict, Newton-Ransom Boulevard, Clarks Summit, by the Rev. Michael J. Boris, assistant pastor. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery.
