Dorothy Louise Lowe, Clarks Summit, died Sunday afternoon at her home.  She was the widow of Rev. Edward Charles Lowe.

Born in Wilkes Barre in 1930, she was the daughter of the late Frederick P. and Olive Rogers Evans. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School in 1948. She began by working at the Heinz Store and then later at Scranton Dry in the advertising department. Later she became an insurance agent, working for Margolies Insurance Agency. Then she went with Wells & Reinheimer until retirement.

She was a lifelong Episcopalian, where she served in many ways at the Church of Epiphany in Glenburn. Louise loved to travel and visited 37 nations in all. One of her favorite trips was one around the world in 1972. She often spent Christmas and her birthday in Europe. Louise learned many needlecrafts, art and other crafts during her lifetime.

Louise is survived by nieces and nephews Glenn (Alice) Singer, Fred G. Singer and son Rupen, Lori (Salvatore, Sr.) Vitello and sons Salvatore Jr. and Joseph, Jeff (Carol) Singer and children Michael Singer and Nicole (John) Malone, Lisa James and son Luke (Sonya) Dowd and daughter Amanda Dowd; grand nieces and nephews Rebecca (Keith) Wiley and Patrick (Andrea) Ward; and seven great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marilyn Singer and Ethel Joan Edmonds; nieces, Linda Arico and Julie Edmonds.

The funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of The Epiphany, 25 Church Hill Rd, Glenburn PA with services by Rev. Michele Causton, pastor. Interment will be at a later date in Washburn Street Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may pay their respects at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. All those attending are asked to wear bright-colored clothing and/or hats.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of the Epiphany.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
