Dorothy P. Wasser

Dorothy P. Wasser, 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday. She was the wife of Jack W. Wasser, who passed away in 2012. They had been married for 66 years.

Born in Scranton on April 14, 1925, Dorothy was the daughter of the late James Clement and Lillian Klopfer Perrine. A graduate of Clarks Summit/Clarks Green High School, her class of 1943 yearbook describes her as "Frank… Won't take any guff from anyone, nor does she expect anyone to take it from her." She graduated from Lackawanna Business College and worked for various companies including Spalding Bakery and W. T. Grant, before retiring from Akzona in 1990.

Dorothy enjoyed baking, especially her red velvet cake for our birthdays, and traveling in Upstate New York and throughout New England. She took many pictures and put together photo albums for all of her grandchildren. We will miss her dry sense of humor and her bologna and egg sandwiches.

Surviving are her two sons, Barry (Linda) of Leesburg, VA and Eric (Bobbi) of Clarks Summit, PA; four grandchildren, Kristine (Judson) of Waterford, VA, Scott (Alexa) of Charleston, SC, Eric T. (Kate) of Ypsilanti, MI, and Perrine of Washington, DC. Rounding out the lineup is her great grandson, Nico, and her seven granddogs.
