Edmund A. Champlin, 83, of Newton Township, died on Saturday at Allied Hospice, Scranton. He was the widower of Marilyn A. Champlin. The couple had been married 52 years before her death in 2016.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ida Fisher Champlin. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner/operator of E. A. Champlin Lift Truck Repair in Newton Township. He was an Air Force Veteran. He was a Past Master and a 32nd degree Mason and was also involved with the Irem Shriners.

Surviving are a son, Brian Champlin and wife Jessica Castro-Reyes; three daughters, Judith Mensinger and husband Chip of Lake Winola, Kathleen Gorg and her husband Shawn of Newton Township, Tanya Champlin and partner Matthew Holgate of Glenburn; grandchildren Alicia Tench, Eric and Travis Landsiedel, Maura Mensinger, Alexandria Zapisek, Evan Miller, Breeanna and Edmund Champlin; five great grandchildren: Lily Landsiedel, Owen and Ethan Tench, Lillian Champlin, and Joseph Zapisek; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick, in 1998; and three sisters, Vera Adams, Clara Lucy Brown, and Doris Nay.

A funeral service with masonic honors will be held on Wednesday at 5 pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Karen Rickaby. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 2 pm until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
