Edward J. Bewick Jr.

Edward J. Bewick Jr., 72,  passed on Saturday July 15th, surrounded by his family at Allied Hospice after a brief illness.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Stephanie Chup Bewick.

Son of deceased parents Edward J Bewick Sr and Madelyn Fay Kern Bewick, he was a lifelong resident of the Clarks Summit area.

Ed was educated at Penn State, Scranton and Johnson College. He was the general manager of Abington Hills Cemetery and did general contracting until a spinal cord injury in 1980.  While that event changed his life, he took it in stride and focused on his woodworking talents.  Many homes have the beautiful custom furniture he made.  Ed was a kind and gentle man, who was happiest surrounded by his dogs, who gave him so much love.

Ed is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Fay and Al Kreis, Clarks Summit, his sister-in-law Sharon Chup, Greer, S. Carolina, his niece and her husband Kerri and Dave Perrotti, Clarks Summit, his nephew Albert Kreis, Philadelphia, his great niece Robyn Perrotti, Clarks Summit and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Friends with Paws Pet Rescue, 1443 Sanderson Ave, Scranton, Pa 18509 or Griffin Pond Animal Shelter,967 Griffin Pond Rd, S Abington Twp., PA 18411.

A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 am to 10:15 am.
