Edward J. Rhinesmith, 77, of Dalton passed away on Friday September 20, 2024 due to illnesses.
Born to the late Edward and Mildred (Dow) Rhinesmith, he was a graduate of Wayne Valley High School. He was drafted into the Army and served as a Sergeant in the Vietnam War; he was part of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. Edward worked as a heavy equipment operator and then as a self-contracting painter. He loved to go fishing and hunting and also loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are a son Edward Rhinesmith; daughter Holly Edwards; son-in-law Charles Edwards; son-in-law Brian Snyder; grandson Ford VanWert and grandson Brian Snyder Jr.; sister Linda McKay; brother-in-law Frank McKay; brother William Rhinesmith; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Janice Rhinesmith, daughter Leslie Snyder, 2nd wife F. Lee Rhinesmith, brothers Thomas Rhinesmith and Kenneth Rhinesmith, sisters Deborah Detko and Patricia Camacho.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 South State Street, Clarks Summit.
