Elinor Dougherty

Elinor F. Dougherty, 84, of Lake Winola passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Willowbrook Place, Clarks Summit. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George Dougherty in 2023.

Born on June 7, 1941, she is the daughter of the late John and Josephine Foley.

Elinor was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary's Academy. She continued her education at the Holy Cross Central School of Nursing in Notre Dame, Indiana graduating in 1963. She dedicated many years of her life to serving others at Mercy Hospital until her retirement and then later at St. Michael's School.

She was a dedicated member of St. Mary of the Lake Church, where she actively participated in various ministries, including being part of the Rosary and Altar Society and serving as a Lioness.

Elinor was known for her caring nature and warm spirit. She greatly cherished spending time with her family, creating memories that will forever be held in the hearts of her loved ones.

In addition, Elinor enjoyed quilting and gardening, hobbies that reflected her creativity and love for nurturing life.

She is survived by sons, Gregory Dougherty and wife Cheryl, Douglas Dougherty, George Dougherty and wife Kim; daughter, Christina Reeves and husband Ronald; brother, John Foley; grandchildren, Nathan and Raymond Reeves, Krista, Katie, John, Justin, and Matthew Dougherty; great grandchildren, Ella Kate, Adison, Raelynn, and Ryleigh Dougherty, Chloe Congdon.

Family and friends are invited to attend Elinor's Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM from the St. Mary of the Lake Church, 1872 Dalton Road, Lake Winola, PA 18625. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola.
