Elizabeth “Betty” Bartlett Elizabeth “Betty” Bartlett moved to her heavenly home on Monday February 29th at the Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock, PA as she listened to the song “Go rest High on the Mountain” surrounded by loved ones and friends. Betty was born April 6, 1929 daughter of the late Christian and Elizabeth Weber Good. She graduated from the Pillar of Fire High School of Zarephath, NJ. She then went on to get her teaching degree from the same school. Betty held many various positions in life, working as a welder during WWII, school teaching, house cleaning and driving school bus to provide the means to raise her four children. Activities that she enjoyed were hunting and fishing, crocheting, playing scrabble, playing bingo at the Senior Center and having fun with her Red Hat friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband W. Alvin Bartlett, Sisters Anna, Ruth, Esther, and Martha and Brother Christian. Surviving are her children Patty (Ernie) of Tunkhannock, Cindy (Paul) of Baton Rouge, LA, Walt (Dianna) of Myersville, MD, and Sharon (Rick) of Hughestown, PA; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 3rd from the Vernon Baptist Church in Centermoreland with Pastor Glen Spencer officiating. Interment will be in Perrins Marsh Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 4 – 8 at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA and again on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Betty’s name to the Vernon Baptist Church, RT 292, Centermoreland, PA 18657, or to a charity of donor’s choice.
