Elizabeth "Betsy" Osman, 82, of Dalton, PA passed away on October 20th in Scranton, PA. She was the widow of Edward Osman, who passed in 2022.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William Kenneth and Dora Barber Rees. She married Ed, her high school sweetheart in 1967.
Betsy was a dedicated Air Force spouse, moving with the family to many locales, including Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany; Holden, Massachusetts; and Newport News, VA, before returning to her hometown of Dalton, PA after Ed retired. Once back home, she worked as a bookkeeper at McClintock's Floral for many years. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church-Abington, where she served as Treasurer and lent her beautiful voice to their choir. She was also a member of the Abington Heights Civic League and the Lake Underwood Nimrod Club.
After her many years of travel, Betsy loved being back home close to family, high school friends, and her church family. She was always busy and loved being outdoors, whether it was to prune the apple orchard, pick up sticks, or rake leaves. Betsy brought love and light everywhere she went and will be so missed.
She is survived by son William (Elisa), daughter Lara (Rob Berthold), son Jeffrey (Andrea); grandchildren, Justin, Lydia and Timothy Osman and Kyla Berthold; brothers William David Rees (Sandy) and Kenneth Lee Rees (Evelyn); sister Rebecca Connor; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Jeffrey Rees, and sister, Pamela Rees Pangonis.
The family would like to especially thank her nephew, Kyle Pangonis, who checked up on her every day after our dad's passing and visited her faithfully once she was no longer able to stay at home.
