Emmett E. Dingee, Sr., of Clarks Summit, was called home to be with our Lord, on Sunday. He was under the care of the United Methodist Homes-Wesley Village campus. A devoted servant of God, Emmett dedicated his life to faith, service, and helping others. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Finkler Dingee, in 1994 after 33 years of marriage and his second wife, Marjorie McDonnell Dingee, in 2023 after 25 years of marriage.

Born in Clarks Summit, he was the son of the late Roy and Sarah Tripp Dingee. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert Dingee and Leroy "Johnny" Dingee and sister Marion Hackman.

Surviving are a daughter Carol Manglaviti of Tunkhannock, PA; son Emmett Dingee, Jr. and his wife Gretchen of Clarks Summit and son James Dingee of Falls, PA; grandchildren Adam Boettcher, Brian Dingee, Megan Dingee, John Manglaviti IV, Amanda Dingee, Joshua Dingee, and Bradley Wagner; great grandchildren Anna Munyat, Aria Boettcher, Avery Boettcher, and Graham Wagner; stepchildren Frank McDonnell III of West Chester and Louise McDonnell of Clarks Summit; several step grand and great grandchildren.

Family was at the heart of Emmett's life. Nothing brought more happiness than spending time with loved ones. Many cherished memories were made kayaking and canoeing down the Susquehanna with grandchildren, whose laughter and joy echoed Emmett's own zest for life. A passionate traveler and explorer, Emmett had a spirit that was always ready for the next adventure. Dogs held a special place in Emmett's heart. Always prepared with a milk bone in hand, he had an undeniable bond with furry friends. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and attended Piedmont Bible College, Winston-Salem, NC. Prior to retirement, he was a General Foreman for Halsey Incorporated. Emmett was an active member of Countryside Community Church, Antique Automotive Club of America-Scranton Region, Model A Ford Club of America and Steamtown A's.

A funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 am at Countryside Community Church, 14011 Orchard Drive, Clarks Summit with services by Rev. James Hollister, pastor. Interment with military honors to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Schultzville.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Countryside Community Church.
