Ernest W. McCoy, Sr., South Abington Township, died on Thursday at his home.

Ernest was a veteran of the United States Air Force, then worked at GSGS&B before retiring from Highland Associates. He was also a member of the Church of Saint Gregory.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Corkadel McCoy; four children: Ernest W. McCoy, Jr. and wife Beth, Swoyersville, PA, Rosemarie Holt and husband John, Scott Township, PA, Michael Joseph McCoy and wife Cindy, Livingston, TX, and Timothy James McCoy and wife Laurie, Glenburn, PA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved very much. He created wonderful memories for all of us to have forever.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to thank Sacred Heart and Ernest's caregivers for the compassionate care they showed him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at stjude.org/donate, or Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Township, PA 18411.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
