Evelyn Marie Werkheiser, 88 of Tunkhannock passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side Tuesday evening, February 2nd, 2016.
Evelyn was born in Bath, Pa. on December 19, 1927, daughter of the late Henry and Maude West Laubach.
She was a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Evelyn was the owner of Ev’s Cards and Gift Shop in Tunkhannock for several years. Much of her time was spent doing crafts and giving to others. Her talent for baking was well known to those who knew her. Her family was the light of her life and she loved every minute spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Next to her family where her bingo and casino friends.
Preceding her in death were her brothers, Henry and Larry Laubach. Surviving is her husband of 70 years and the true love of her life Norman Werkheiser. Daughters Karen Tague, Sally Mingos and husband John, son Glenn and wife Judy Werkheiser, all of Tunkhannock, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Pastor Jon Buxton of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Judes’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
