Franklin D. Hoefert, 81, of Tunkhannock passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanette (Lyle) Hoefert.
Born on July 31, 1942 in Berkley, CA, he is the son of the late August and Senja (Hurmi) Hoefert.
He was a 1960 graduate of Ripon High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.
Frank began by working on his family's dairy farm before transitioning to a career at Procter and Gamble in CA from 1971 to 1994. After relocating to PA, he brought his caring nature to Tyler Memorial Hospital, where he devoted 11 years of service.
He was particularly fond of creating metal art work. Additionally, he enjoyed fishing and camping, finding peace in the great outdoors.
Frank's greatest joy was the time he spent with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Mark Hoefert and wife Christine; grandchildren, Ethan Hoefert, Kaitlyn Hoefert and husband Noah Williams; great grandchild, James Williams; sister-in-law, Barbara Nisen and husband John; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Gary Hoefert; brother, John Hoefert.
Funeral services will be held privately.
