Frederick Charles Keihn, 74, died on May 20 th at his home in South Abington.
This is our most interesting man. A catholic "slightly out of practice", he never missed an opportunity to tell a story. He liked his women intelligent, strong, independent and beautiful…in that order. A military man, intelligent and hardworking. After the Vietnam War, he started a family and worked as a military contractor, an engineer, and MetLife Manager.
Even at a young age, he'd tell his four children elaborate bedtime stories and they would beg to hear the next installment each night. As he got older, he felt the need to explain some topics that initially they may have had no interest in at all, but he'd find a way to suck them in, and he'd explain it in a kind and thoughtful way that never made them feel dumb.
When he retired, he had to find something to do with his time, so he put his storytelling to good use and published a series of novels about a detective named Duffy that had almost as an adventurous life as their old man.
Fred was the son of the late John and Ann Keihn, who are waiting for him in the great beyond. He is survived by his children, Heidi Keihn, Rebecca Johnson, John and Charles Carr; brother Jim Jordan; sister Judy Stewart; ex-wives Linda Carr and Dale Lubeck; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and his old dog, Roger.
