Frederick “Fred” R. Killian died Monday evening, May 17, 2021 in the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton after a long battle with Dementia. Fred is now resting in eternal peace and his own memories will no longer be a struggle for him. He was born in Shickshinny, Salem Twp. On November 3,1936 son of the late Fred and Josephine Schuckers Killian. Fred was a 1956 graduate of Shickshinny High School and a Navy Veteran. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Procter & Gamble in the Mehoopany Plant for over 20 years. He was a former member of the Tunkhannock Fraternal Order of Eagles and Triton Hose Company in Tunkhannock. He was a very kind and patient, husband, Father, Grand-Father, Great Grand Father. He enjoyed Fishing, Bingo and could often be seen at the slot machines in various casinos. He was preceded in death by a brother Roland Killian. Surviving is his wife of 61 years Jennie L. Lane Killian, Sons Robert and Melanie, Bradley and Karen, brothers, David and Melinda, William and Jane, Ralph and Bernadine Killian, grandchildren Mark and Sarah Killian, Miranda and Kyle Kelley, great grandchildren Conley, Meara, Maille Killian. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service which will be held on Saturday June 12 at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. A visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, 401 Penn Ave. Scranton, Pa. 18503 or to the Charity of their choice.
