Frederick “Fred” J. Kintner 90 of Mehoopany died Friday evening at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mehoopany on September 12, 1924, son of the late Fred J. and Lucy Bloom Kintner. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 68 years, Jeanne Furman Kintner. She was the love of his life. He is survived by Jeanne and their five children, Cheryl Seese of Fort Worth, Texas, Ed Kintner and his wife Debbie of Mehoopany, Holly Anderson and her husband Ray of Auburn Center, Jet Lea Visneski and her husband Dr. Paul Visneski of Lancaster, and Fred Jeffrey Kintner of Mehoopany. Grandchildren: Michael Seese, Rachael Cook, Tammie Ceccarelli, Dulci Clark, Shannon Matyas, Alyssa Nicholas, Cody Anderson, Ashley Candler, Ryan Visneski, Laurel DeMeo, Jessica Visneski, Joseph Kintner, Sara Kintner, Joshua Kintner, and Jacob Kintner. Great grandchildren: Ryder Cook, Lane and Cali Ceccarelli, Titus and Payton Clark, Lydia, Elijah, Norabelle, Samuel, Adeline, Levi, and Annalea Matyas, Marietta Candler, Elijah Kintner, and Noah and Nate Nicholas. Also survived by his sisters, Mary Tinna of Mehoopany and Nancy Kintner of Forkston. He was preceded in death by great grandson Chad Watson, Jr. Fred was a 1942 graduate of Mehoopany High School. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Mehoopany for over 40 years. He also owned and operated a school bus in the Tunkhannock Area School District. In 1972 he founded Kintner Modular Homes. He was a Tunkhannock Rotarian and a Paul Harris fellow. He was a member of the Mehoopany United Methodist Church and a former member of its Board of Trustees. Throughout the years he thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Fred was an avid baseball fan and loved sharing that he attended the 1938 World Series between the New York Giants and the Chicago Cubs. In the 1940’s he often would go to New York to attend two different games in the same day. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Tunkhannock Golden Living and Sacred Heart Hospice staff for their heartfelt love and compassion. Funerals services will be held on Wednesday, February 18 at 1030 am from the Mehoopany United Methodist Church with Pastor Jay Morris officiating. Interment will be in Vaughn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kintner Family Fund, C/O Community Foundation of the Endless Mts. , 270 Lake Ave., Montrose, Pa. 18701 or to The Alzheimer’s Association, 57 N.
